Educational & Illustrative Use Only. Not legal, tax, accounting, or other professional advice and does not create any professional relationship. Consult a locally licensed attorney and CPA before acting on any information here.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Personal Branding Activity LLC ("we," "us," "our") collects through personalbrandingactivity.com (the "Site"), why we collect it, who else handles it, and what you can do about it.

We have written this in plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, ask us.

The short version

We collect the minimum we need to run a subscription website: your name and email so you can have an account, a record of what you have paid for, and anything you choose to post in the forum. We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for advertising. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking on this Site.

Information you give us

Account information. When you create an account we collect your name and email address. Authentication is handled by Clerk, our login provider. Your password, if you set one, is stored by Clerk and is never visible to us.

Payment information. When you buy a membership, payment is processed by Stripe. Stripe collects your card details, billing name, billing address, and email directly. We never receive or store your full card number. What we keep is a record that a subscription exists, its status, its plan, and the date it is paid through.

Content you post. Discussions and replies you write in the member forum, and any messages you send us through the contact form.

Information collected automatically

Session and security data. Standard web server records — IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps — used to keep the Site running, to apply rate limits, and to investigate abuse.

Administrative audit records. When an administrator takes an action on the Site (publishing content, changing a role, resolving a report), we log what was done and when. This is a safeguard for you as much as for us.

Cookies. We use cookies that are necessary for the Site to function: keeping you signed in, protecting forms against cross-site request forgery, and remembering your session. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use cross-site tracking or ad-network pixels. Blocking necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in.

How we use it

  • To create and maintain your account
  • To provide the content and features your membership includes
  • To process payments, renewals, and cancellations
  • To respond to your questions
  • To moderate the forum and enforce our Terms
  • To protect the Site against fraud, abuse, and security threats
  • To meet legal and tax obligations

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not make automated decisions that produce legal effects about you.

Who else handles your information

We use a small number of service providers. They process information on our behalf and under contract; they are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

  • Clerk — account creation, sign-in, and session management
  • Stripe — payment processing, subscriptions, and billing records
  • Neon — the database that stores accounts, memberships, and content
  • Google Cloud Storage — storage of uploaded files, images, and member resources
  • Replit — hosting for the Site
  • Cloudflare — bot protection on the sign-in and sign-up forms

We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of a person, to investigate fraud, or to enforce our Terms.

If the business is ever sold or merged, account information may transfer as part of that transaction. We would give notice on the Site before that happened.

Children

You must be at least 18 to hold an account. A minor may use the Site through an account held by a parent or legal guardian.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We are conscious that much of what we write about concerns high school students. We ask all members not to post information identifying a specific minor, and we remove such content when we find it.

How long we keep it

We keep account information for as long as your account is open, and for a reasonable period afterward to handle billing questions, disputes, and legal or tax obligations. Payment records are retained as long as tax and accounting rules require. Forum content may remain visible after an account closes unless you ask us to remove it.

Your choices

You can:

  • See or correct the information on your account from your account settings.
  • Cancel your membership at any time from your billing page.
  • Ask us to delete your account and personal information. Contact us and we will do so, except where we are required to keep certain records — for example, payment and tax records.
  • Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

To make any of these requests, use our contact page. We may need to verify your identity before acting, which protects you.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. We honor those rights without charging you or degrading your service for exercising them.

Security

We use HTTPS throughout, restrict administrative access, log administrative actions, validate uploaded files, and rely on established providers for authentication and payments. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take this seriously and design accordingly.

Changes

We may update this Policy. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above, and if a change is material we will make reasonable efforts to notify members.

Contact

Questions, requests, or concerns about privacy can be sent through our contact page.
